Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin Corporation is a global security and aerospace company with more than 90,000 U.S. employees across multiple legacy organizations.

Situation

Lockheed Martin sought to significantly alter their employee rewards and benefits package to demonstrate the value the company placed on attracting and retaining the best talent.

Solution

Buck partnered with Lockheed Martin to create a change and communication employee experience plan to support the benefits overhaul.

The work included:

  1. Creating a total rewards brand to introduce the change and convey the new philosophical approach
  2. Analyzing data and providing logic for stakeholder assessments across 40 different benefit audience groups
  3. Developing quantitative metrics to monitor the employee experience and reaction to change, including tracking Web usage, face-to-face and telephonic support and communication materials
  4. Drafting and designing more than 30 versions of announcement materials and creating numerous strategic communication mechanisms, including interactive personas, infographics, and educational “whiteboard” videos

Results

  • 83% of employee queries in the week following the announcement were responded to within one business day
  • 70% of employee response was characterized as either positive or neutral.
  • Strategic communication materials targeted and addressed primary employee query topics. Resources were efficiently deployed and aligned with top-priority communication needs.
